NLW Vindication (Pay Per View)
August 4, 2017
Live from the TD Garden Arena in Boston, Massachusetts
:: “Chop Suey” by System of a Down plays throughout the arena as Tommy Cruise walks onto the ramp. As he makes his way to the ring staring down Jinder Mahal. ::
Carl Rogers – Welcome to the NLW Vindication pre-show match. New talent Tommy Cruise is set to showcase his abilities against Jinder Mahal. Word has it that this man can beat his opponents in a variety of ways.
Barry Hanson – This guy looks intense. I may like him already.
Kyleigh “Spark” – I will hold my judgement until I see him in the ring like an unbiased commentator should.
:: THE BELL RINGS. ::
(Jinder Mahal charges at Tommy Cruise, but Cruise manages to duck a clothesline. He delivers a Back kick to the back of the knee of Mahal. Cruise turns and drives his left knee into the gut of Mahal, grabs Mahal, and drops him with a DDT. He goes for the cover….the ref counts…One…T…kickout by Mahal. Cruise gets up and taunts Mahal, Mahal gets up angrily, Cruise confidently approaches the enraged Mahal. They grapple. Mahal pushes Cruise to the ground, as he goes to taunt Cruise, Cruise connects with a Flying Clothesline. Cruise hops over the downed Mahal, then makes his way to the top turnbuckle. He sets up, he leaps, and connects with a Shooting Cruise Press. Cruise goes for the cover…One..Two..Thre…kickout by Mahal.)
Kyleigh “Spark” - Tommy Cruise has been dominating this match against the bigger Mahal.
Barry Hanson - You don’t speak down to royalty like Jinder Mahal.
(Cruise grabs the head of Mahal and drags him to his knees, he sets him up,lifts, and drops Mahal with MY CALLING! The ref counts…ONE…TWO…THREE!!)
Carl Rogers - Very impressive work by Cruise.
Barry Hanson - You mean quick work. Mahal never had a chance. I said it from the start.
Kyleigh “Spark” - Didn’t yo…
Barry Hanson - No one asked you Kyleigh.
Kyleigh “Spark” - Yeah, Barry. I get paid for my opinion which is always more intelligible than anything you have to add.. Moron.
:: “WHAT DO WE WANT! WHAT DO WE NEED? HEAD! HEAD! HEAD!” Followed by Insane in the Membrane by Cyprus Hill blasts throughout the arena. The NLWTRON cuts to HEAD next to a half eaten bologna sandwich and a blowtorch. ::
Head (Morgan Freeman voice) - Tommy Cruise you have been chosen. Next week at Pandemonium, you will battle a warrior to be named later. If you win that match you become the first or second, depending on how well Riddick Cage performs tonight, to be a participant in the Fatal Fourway Hardcore Iron Man Match. The gift of Head has been given.
:: The NLWTRON fades to black. We now see Carl Rogers, Barry Hanson, and Kyleigh “Spark” sitting at the broadcast table with a countdown at the bottom of the screen. ::
Carl Rogers - Another appearance from Head! This Hardcore Division is going to be exciting! Folks, we are about ready to kick off Next Level Wrestling’s FIRST EVER pay per view! If you haven’t done so yet, please call the number on your screen and order now! Vindication is next!
:: The screen fades to black, as Vindication is about to officially kick off. ::
::“Paranoid” by No Wyld begins playing on the NLWTRON and television sets across the world. “I’m trying to find a way that I can go and take on this world.” Video of Alexander Midas winning the Pure Championship last week. Video of Murphy MacManus dominating his competition thusfar. “Like, just by myself with nobody’s help.” Video of Monique Browning, Becky Lynch, and Nixon Newell brawling and then Kay Lee Ray joining the fray from two weeks ago. Then there’s video of Monique crashing the guitar over Becky Lynch’s head last week. “But, how come every time I try it’s like I’m going nowhere fast?” Video of Marcus O’Hara defeating Marty Scurll in the cage match two weeks ago. Video of Tazai Mitsubishi and Adrian Veidt winning their respective debut matches. “Like this just won’t last so I’m paranoid, now.” Video of Ted DiBiase laughing. Video of David Knight winning his debut match. Video of Bryan Danielson getting attacked by a masked man. Video of Brayden Wolfe’s reaction to David Knight losing the Pure Championship match last week. “This is frightenin’, always tryin’, no reaction I’m not lyin’, I don’t like when I’m not winnin’.” Video of Jagen Hagar in the ring. Video of Riddick Cage in the ring. “That’s the reason I need somethin’ to believe in so won’t you give me something now. ‘Cause I need to move somehow.” Video of Hulk Hogan playing to the fans. Video of Carlos Ruiz hugging fans. Video of the two of them signing their contract. “Whoa-oa-oa-oa-oa-oa” Screen fades to black. A dark, sold out TD Garden Arena in Boston, Massachusetts becomes illuminated by pyrotechnics for about thirty seconds. After the pyrotechnics are done, the lights come on and we see a raucous fan base going nuts for Vindication. The cameras cut over to the broadcast table. ::
Carl Rogers - Good evening, everybody! Welcome to Next Level Wrestling’s FIRST EVER pay per view event! This is NLW Vindication! We’ve got an amazing evening planned for you guys.
Kyleigh “Spark” - You’re right, Carl. We’ve got Hulk Hogan and Carlos Ruiz squaring off in a match that legends are made of! We’ve got a four-lady ladder match for the NLW Divas Championship! We’ve got the Pure Championship up for grabs!
Barry Hanson - And don’t forget that “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase is going to take his Million Dollar Championship AND his money back tonight!
Carl Rogers - We are going to kick things off with a hardcore match!
:: "Pia's Theme" by Christopher Melotti begins to echo drearily throughout the arena. Smoke begins to pour out onto the stage. Jagen Hagar, in a dirty white robe, and A Girl in a black robe slowly make their way to the ring. Hagar slowly enters the ring, ignoring all the heckles, boos, and jeers. A girl walks over by the ring announcer and remains motionless the entire match. ::
Carl Rogers - Jagen Hagar was able to defeat Marcus O’Hara in his first match under contract.
Kyleigh “Spark” - The guy gives me the creeps, but he earned his spot. Call me crazy, but I have a feeling Head had something to do with that.
Barry Hanson - If Hagar is as smart as he looks, he would align himself with that genius mind.
:: “Walking Dead” by Cryptex hits over the P.A. System as Riddick Cage and Solara come out of the entry way. ::
Kyleigh “Spark” - Riddick Cage showed he has talent, but he also showed he has something dark about him.
Barry Hanson - I heard he is like the real life version of Captain America and got the super serum.
Kyleigh “Spark” - Yeah and I once rode “Nessie.”
:: Riddick makes his way into the ring. Solara stands on one side of the ring apron and A Girl stands opposite of her. ::
Barry Hanson - If we’re lucky we will see a cat fight tonight!
:: THE BELL RINGS. ::
(Jagen Hagar and Riddick Cage circle each other a few times. Hagar reaches into his robe, pulls out some of sort of dark sand and throws it in the eyes of Riddick. As Riddick wipes the sand out of his eyes, Hagar dives at Riddick, driving both men through the ropes and onto the outside. Hagar goes to kick Riddick but Riddick catches Hagar’s foot and pushes him back into the apron. Riddick Cage explodes and drives his shoulder into Hagar’s gut, immediately grabbing the back of his head and whipping him into the barricade. Riddick charges and delivers a devastating kick to the gut of Hagar. Riddick grabs the hair of Hagar and drags him to his knees. He goes to whip Hagar into the ringpost, but Hagar manages to reverse it and deliver a knee and subsequent Snap Suplex driving Riddick Cage’s back onto the outside. Both men are down for a second, but Hagar turns to the ring, he crawls over a bit and reaches under the ring, he pulls out a chair. He turns to see Riddick charging, attempting a Low Dropkick, but Hagar manages to sidestep. As Cage hits the outside. Hagar jumps on the apron, drops the chair onto Riddick then leaps and connects with a Swanton. Riddick Cage is clenching his gut as Hagar grabs at his back.)
Kyleigh Spark - I am not sure Hagar knows how to wrestle in the ring. Last week, much of the damage was delivered while O’Hara and Hagar we outside the ring.
Carl Rogers - I hate to say it, but it is not a bad strategy for a Hardcore Match. No DQ, No COUNTOUT. It makes a certain sadistic sense.
Barry Hanson - I am sold. He is a genius.
Kyleigh Spark - Don’t count of Riddick Cage just yet, this fight if far from over.
(Both men begin to get to their knees. They get up and the same time and begin exchanging hard rights hands. Riddick blocks a right by Hagar then quickly jumps on the apron, catching Hagar offguard enabling him to bring Hagar down with a Hurancanranna. Riddick Cage walks over and grabs the chair. He waits for Hagar to get to his knees. As he does, Riddick jumps and runs on the apron, throws the chair at Hagar, instinctively catching it in front of his face. Riddick jumps off and connects with a kick to the chair, driving it into the face of Hagar. Hagar is busted open. Riddick grabs Hagar by the hair and drags hims to his knees towards the ring. He slides Hagar in the ring, he hops on the apron , then springboards over and connects with a Springboard Senton. Riddick Cage hooks the legs…the ref counts… One…Two..Th…kickout by Hagar.)
Kyleigh “Spark” - Wow. I thought it was over.
Barry Hanson - A man is too tough for it to end now.
(Cage gets up, and heads to the corner. He climbs to the top turnbuckle, he turns to set up, he is met with an uppercut, then a few hard right hands. Hagar climbs the to the second turnbuckle. Hagar hooks Riddick for what seems to be a Superplex, but as he goes to lift, Riddick Cage blocks it, instead pushing Hagar to the mat. Riddick sets up quickly and leaps as Hagar turns on his back, and connects with the Corkscrew Shooting Star Press. Riddick goes for the cover.. .the ref counts… One…Two…Thr….kickout by Hagar. Riddick has a look of frustration on his face. He gets up and kicks the ropes in frustration. He turns and goes to grab Hagar by the head, he does and gets to Hagar to his knees, but Hagar catches Riddick with a Low Blow. Hagar takes a few steps back, then comes back quickly and connects with a Superkick. But he doesn’t go for the pin, he goes to the outside. He reaches under the ring and drags out a table. He takes the table and slides it in the ring. Hagar slides in the ring, he seemingly slides over, and drops and Elbow across the back of Riddick. He does this three more times. Then walks over to the table. He sets the table up the corner. Riddick is getting to his knees. Hagar runs and connects with a Low Dropkick to the face of Riddick. Hagar quickly grabs, Riddick and sets him up, he lifts him and driving him into the mat with the first Powerbomb of Rapture, the third and final Powerbomb, instead of the ma, Hagar and drives Riddick Cage into the table, breaking it in hundreds of pieces. Hagar drops to a knee in exhaustion. Cage is out.)
Carl Rogers - I don’t think Head could have asked for a better hardcore match than what we are seeing tonight.
Kyleigh “Spark” - I hate to say it, but the creep looks like he has Riddick right where he wants him.
(Hagar slowly and unsteadily makes his way to Riddick Cage, Hagar drops on him with an Elbow Drop across the throat, then stays there for an awkward cover…the ref counts.. One…Two…Thre…shoulder up by Riddick Cage.)
Barry Hanson - That’s not possible. A man had that match won. It’s settled, Riddick Cage is more than just a mere mortal.
Kyleigh “Spark” - No moron. He is just extremely resilient apparently.
(Hagar grabs Riddick by the head and brings him to his feet, then whips Riddick into ropes, Riddick bounces off, Hagar takes a step forward and goes for another Superkick, but Riddick slides under. Riddick turns before Hagar, grabs Hagar, spins him around, Riddick locks in the Guerilla Grip as he takes Hagar to the mat.)
Carl Rogers - He has the Guerilla Grip locked in. That’s it. Hagar has to tap.
(Hagar holds out though. He keeps trying to find a way out of the move. Hagar struggles for longer than Riddick expected so he lets go, believing he has a quicker way. With the last of his strength he picks up Hagar, he throws him on his shoulders, and he connects with Lights Out. Riddick Cage hooks the legs of Jagen Hagar…the ref counts… One…Two…Three!!!!)
Kyleigh “Spark” - We have a winner! Riddick Cage wins the first match in NLW pay per view history!
Barry Hanson - I can’t believe A Man lost! A Man does not lose! This is impossible!
Carl Rogers - What a great debut match for our first pay per view! A hellacious Hardcore match! Head must be very pleased! Coming up next…
:: A graphic with the Million Dollar Championship Tournament bracket shows on the screen. ::
Carl Rogers - We will start the Million Dollar Title Tournament... and with two very different competitors, might I add.
:: “Fatal” by Critical Mass hits as a red cloud of smoke comes out from the entrance. Tazai Mitsubishi emerges from the smoke and runs to the ring. He slides under the bottom rope and pops to his feet. He gains a mixed reaction from the crowd as his music begins to fade out. :: Kyleigh “Spark” - I must say Tazai Mitsubishi is one of the few talents on the roster with the right attitude.
Carl Rogers - Tazai is here to win and, with his performance last week, he showed why he is a threat to win this tournament.
:: Mitsubishi takes place in one of the corners as “For Whom the Bell Tolls” by Metallica plays over the P.A. system. David Knight stomps out from the back:: Barry Hanson - Tazai needs the hands and feet of Liu Kang if he wants to take down this behemoth. Ring Announcer - And his opponent From Sacramento, California… weighing in at 300 pounds, DAVID KNIGHT!
:: The Bell Rings. ::
(David Knight and Tazai Mitsubishi approach each other, Knight goes for a grapple but Tazai quickly strikes Knight with a series of kicks, alternating from one side to the other, then one knee to the other. The Psycho Tiger goes for an Enzigui and connects, knocking Knight back into the ropes. Tazai charges and leaps, attempting a Flying Clothesline, but The Nightmare catches Tazai. He turns around, adjusts his grip, and locks in the Cobra Clutch, he holds the submission for about ten seconds, before aggressively lifting Tazai up and dropping him with a Cobra Clutch Suplex. He goes for the cover...the ref counts… One...Knight gets off Tazai.)
Kyleigh “Spark” - What a cocky, disrespctful move by David Knight.
Barry Hanson - I wouldn’t mind this beast of a man toss this little guy around some more.
Carl Rogers - Trust me, don’t write Tazai off so easily.
(David Knight reaches over and grabs Tazai by his neck and brings him to his knees..he sets him up, he lifts up Tazai, apparently going for a Blue Thunder Bomb, but Tazai is able to slide out. He runs and hops off the ropes, he drives the big man to the mat with a Springboard Bulldog. Tazai hops up, hops on the second turnbuckle and connects with a Splash. He hooks the huge legs of Knight...the ref counts… One..T.. Knight throws Tazai off of him. Tazai is undeterred, as Knight gets to a knee, The Psycho Tiger charges and drives his knee into the head of Knight. Knight lands on his back. The Psycho Tiger drops to the mat, and locks in 3 O’Clock…..)
Kyleigh “Spark” - Big men feel pain too. This move is known to break bones.
Barry Hanson - Look at that man, He is probably made of metal. I doubt he feels pain.
(Knight is in obvious pain as he tries to unlock Tazai’s legs. Knight turns his body towards Tazai, he pushes up with his legs, and gives his loose arm the momentum to grab Tazai’s hands and break up the grip. As his elbow is released, despite the pain, he drives the elbow into the gut of Tazai. He guts to a knee, he leans over and begins unloading right hands onto Tazai. The Nightmare grabs Tazai and violently lifts him to his feet. He spins Tazai around, wraps his arm around, and throws him with a Release German Suplex, but Tazai somehow manages to land on his feet. He quickly hops on the top turnbuckle and as Knight smugly turns he is met with a Missle Drop Kick. Tazai goes for the cover. The ref counts… One...Two...kickout by Knight. Tazai walks over and goes for a stomp on the downed Knight, but Knight catches his foot, leans forward and pushes Tazai into the corner. Knight gets to a knee then explodes into the corner with his shoulder, but Tazai hops on the top turnbuckle, and Knight’s shoulders connects hard with the ringpost. He jumps off the turnbuckle, then The Psycho Tigerdelivers a series of kicks to the back of the knees of Knight. He pulls Knight out of the corner. He grabs Knight and drives him down with a Reverse STO. He quickly gets on top of the big men and stuggles to lock in the Camel Clutch, but after a few seconds he succeeds in putting Knight into the submission.)
Carl Rogers - Tazai certainly has the right strategy. Can he pull it through to the end, is the question.
(Tazai is pulling back on Knight’s neck, Knight realizes he is trouble, pushes off with what limited strength he can with his arms and he uses all his massive leg srtength, pushes up with Tazai on his back. He falls back and lands on Tazai. The ref counts… One..Two..Tazai gets a shoulder up. Knight gets to a knee and again unloads vicious right hands to Tazai. He follows by dragging him to his feet, setting him up and connecting with a Fisherman Suplex...the ref counts… One...Two...Thr...kickout by Tazai. Knight gets up angry and yells at the ref. While he does, Tazai is using the ropes to pull himself up. Knight turns around and walks over to Tazai, Knight grabs his shoulder but Tazai connect with a back elbow with his right, then one with his left elbow. He grabs the left arm of Knight, jumps over and brings him down with 9 o’clock. Knight is ready this time though and prevents Tazai from locking his legs.Instead Tazai gives Knight a few kicks to the face. Then rolls back, Knight gets a knee, The Psycho Tiger charges and connects with the Yakuza Kick. He pounces on Knight and hooks the legs...the ref counts… One...Two...Three!)
Carl Rogers - How about that?! Tazai Mitsubishi gives up a great size advantage and defeats the big man!
Kyleigh “Spark” - Very impressive match by Tazai, but how much did that take out of him?
Barry Hanson - There’s no way he can hold up for this entire tournament!
:: “A World Divided” by Pyramaze begins playing over the P.A. System. Adrian Veidt comes out of the tunnel and starts walking down the aisle. ::
Carl Rogers - And the action doesn’t stop there folks! We’ve got a good one coming up here! Adrian Veidt is making his way to the ring already.
Barry Hanson - I’m not sure David Knight has even made it to the dressing room yet!
Kyleigh “Spark” - That’s the beauty of pay per view. No commercial breaks!
:: Adrian Veidt walks past David Knight and scoffs at him as he walks past and slides into the ring. ::
Carl Rogers - Adrian was very impressive in his debut match.
Barry Hanson - I said it before and I’ll say it again. It was Mhy-Col Coal, Rogers!
:: “I’m Shipping Up to Boston” begins playing and Marcus O’Hara walks out from the back with a bottle of Jameson Irish Whiskey in his hand. He starts stumbling towards the ring. ::
Carl Rogers - Surely he can’t make it very far if he’s drunk, right?
Barry Hanson - Why not? He won a cage match and I’m pretty sure he wasn’t sober.
:: Marcus slides into the ring and the bell rings. ::
(The two combatants slowly circle each other, neither wanting to make the first move. Slowly they close the gap between them, and Adrian feints that he is going to jump in. Marcus is wise to the move however and catches Adrian with a right hand. He continues to throw solid rights until Adrian is backed against the ropes. Before the ref can step in, Marcus Irish whips Adrian across the ring and takes him down with a clothesline. Adrian is quick to his feet, but finds himself tied up in a collar and elbow tie up. Marcus works toward the turnbuckle, backing Adrian up. Once he gets to the turnbuckle he begins to chop away at the chest of his opponent, lighting his chest up. After two, three, four, five chops, Adrian 's chest is a bright red.)
Barry Hanson - Adrian’s chest looks like a grilled steak!
(Before he relents his offense, he hits a European Uppercut, causing Adrian to drop down to a knee. From there Marcus grabs Adrian and connects with a snap suplex. With his opponent in the center of the ring, Marcus makes the first pin attempt of the match. One!...Two!...Kick out by Adrian. Marcus grabs a side headlock and uses it to pull Adrian to his feet. From there he connects with a big closed fist to the top of the head, staggering Adrian. The Irish Wan hits the ropes and then tackles his opponent. He unloads with rights and lefts, forcing the referee to step in and stop the closed fist shots. Marcus relents his assault and stands.)
Kyleigh “Spark” - Marcus O’Hara’s got plenty of liquid courage today. He’s really unloading on Adrian Veidt early here.
(He awaits Adrian to stand as well and goes back to some right hands to soften up Adrian. He then grabs an arm and tries to Irish whip Adrian, but Adrian reverses and sends Marcus into the ropes. Off the rebound Adrian loads up spinning heel kick, but his opponent is wise to it and ducks. He quickly turns around and clotheslines Adrian in the back of the head, causing him to stumble into the ropes. Marcus then charges, but Adrian manages to dump Marcus over the top rope and onto the floor below.)
Carl Rogers - Adrian REALLY needed that. He’s been getting pummeled for the entirety of this match. But he doesn’t appear to be recomposing himself too much. The wheels are turning in his head.
(Adrian looks around before grabbing the top rope and launching himself onto Marcus with an impressive springboard plancha. The crowd cheers as Adrian gets to his feet. The referee, knowing the importance of the match to these two men, tells them to get back in the ring, but is slow to start his ten count. Adrian drags his opponent to his feet and throws him hard into the barricade, causing a fan in the front row to spill their popcorn. Adrian then drags his foe to his feet again, but this time he rams him hard into the ring apron. He rolls him back into the ring and after dropping a running knee, hooks a leg. One!...Two!...Two is all he gets as Marcus manages to kick out. Adrian nods his head, almost as if he expected his foe to kick out. He grabs Marcus and lifts him to his feet. He then connects with a chop to the chest of Marcus. It doesn't do much damage, but it allows Adrian to fake a second chop, before he connects with a kick to the midsection. Adrian then grabs a front face lock and hits a Sit Out Facebuster, Marcus's face connects hard with the mat. Instead of going for a cover, Adrian slaps on a chinlock to try to wear down his opponent. He pulls back on the hold, before he wraps his legs around Marcus in a grapevine with the hold locked in. The Irish Wan does his best to free his midsection, but Adrian’s legs are wrapped tight.)
Carl Rogers - Now it is Adrian who is wearing Marcus down.
Barry Hanson - He better be careful not to cinch too tightly around Marcus’ midsection. All that alcohol may come out the wrong way!
(With his head and chin being pulled back, Marcus tries and succeeds in turning and he ends up in the guard of Adrian. He starts to throw punches to the midsection of Adrian, then the face. Marcus then loads up a for another shot, but Adrian catches it and transitions into a triangle choke! Marcus does his best to break the hold with punches, but they are taken weakly to the body. Out of desperation, Marcus lifts Adrian and slams him into the turnbuckle. It isn't the prettiest move, but it does just enough to cause Adrian to lose his grip with his legs and be forced to give up the hold. With Adrian in the corner, Marcus stumbles around, holding his throat. Adrian charges out of the corner, but Marcus gets a boot up to slow his progress. Marcus then grabs Adrian by the back and throws him shoulder first into the ring post through the ropes and turnbuckles. The crowd lets out a gasp as Adrian hitting the post rings throughout the arena. As Adrian falls out of the ring and to the floor, Marcus takes a running start. He hits the ropes, rebounds then hits the far ropes before he launches himself through the ropes at Adrian, who is staggering around the ringside area. Both men go down from the suicide dive, but the crowd loves it.)
Kyleigh “Spark” - The crowd is really into this one, Carl. Both men are showing that they want to be Next Level Wrestling’s first Million Dollar Champion!
(Again referee forgoes the traditional ten count, instead opting to warn each competitor. Both men struggle to their feet, but Marcus is up first and begins to chop away at the chest of Adrian, again lighting it up. Adrian responds with a chop of his own. The two men then begin to trade chops to the chest until Marcus changes up the game plan and connects with the stiff right hand. Adrian doesn't go down, so Marcus connects with a bionic elbow, splitting Adrian wide open.)
Barry Hanson - There we go, Marcus! Smell the blood in the water!
(He rolls Adrian back inside and climbs to the top rope. He connects with a flying elbow drop from the top and after he recoils in some pain, he then hooks a leg. One!...Two!...!-NO! Two and three fourths. Marcus is shocked! He thought he had Adrian for sure. He begs the referee that it was three, but the referee assures him it was only two. Adrian, his face dripping with blood, uses the ropes to get to his feet as Marcus makes his way toward him. Adrian throws a wild haymaker that is well wide of the mark, allowing his opponent to slip under and grab him around the waist and connect with a German suplex, Marcus bridges, the ref slides into position, but Marcus continues to roll through and connect with a second German. He rolls through again and connects with a third German, this time he bridges into a pin. One!...Two!...Two is all he gets again, as again Adrian manages to kick out. Marcus is in the face of the referee. He is arguing that his count was slow and that it should have been three. Marcus grabs the ref by his shirt collar, but the referee shoves him away, right into a Super Kick! Adrian, bloodied, slowly grabs Marcus up from the ground, and connects with a Bubastis Driver, Marcus is driven head first into the mat, Adrian hooks the right leg, One!...Two!...Three!)
Barry Hanson - What just happened?! The referee aided Adrian! Disqualify him! Fire that ref!
Carl Rogers - You can’t be serious, Barry! O’Hara was accosting our official! He did what he had to do to protect himself!
Barry Hanson - Where is Commissioner Michaels when you need him? This match needs to restart!
Kyleigh “Spark” - Good luck with that one, Barry! As it stands, the semi-final round will feature a match-up between Tazai Mitsubishi and Adrian Veidt.
Carl Rogers - But coming up next, we’ve got a match-up for the NLW Pure Championship! Last week at Pandemonium, Alexander “King” Midas was able to overcome Brayden Wolfe, David Knight, and Marty Scurll in order to win the NLW Pure Championship. Let’s take a look back at last week’s action.
:: The video cuts away to highlights from last week’s fourway, one-fall match. We see Alexander Midas pinning David Knight and then holding up the championship as Pandemonium went off of the air. We return to Vindication and the ring announcer is standing in the ring. ::
Ring Announcer - The following contest is scheduled for one fall and it is for the Next Level Wrestling Pure Championship!
:: “The Warriors Code” begins playing and the crowd jumps to their feet. Murphy MacManus steps out to a roar of cheers and begins pumping up the crowd on the stage. ::
Ring Announcer - Introducing first, the challenger. From Dublin, Ireland and weighing in at 255 pounds… Murphy MacManus!
Carl Rogers - I think this may be one of the more underrated matches you will see tonight. Both of these men are geniuses in their own way inside of a wrestling ring.
Barry Hanson - And that’s about it. MacManus surely is no genius OUTSIDE of the ring. He gave up $1,000 from “The Million Dollar Man” last week!
:: MacManus steps into the ring and stretches his arms out wide and yelling at the crowd. They cheer for him as his music fades out and “Gold” by Sir Sly begins to play. ::
Ring Announcer - And his opponent, from Cape Town, South Africa and weighing in at 240 pounds… he is the NLW Pure Champion! Alexander “King” Midas!
:: Midas steps out into the arena from the back and begins moving towards the ring. He has his Pure Championship belt in his hand and he slides under the bottom rope. ::
Kyleigh “Spark” - Here comes the champ. Very impressive win last week and he’s ready to defend his title!
:: Midas hands the belt over to the referee and the referee takes it over to Murphy MacManus to check out and then holds it up high. ::
Carl Rogers - That’s what this one is about, folks. The Pure Championship is on the line!
:: The referee takes the belt over to the ringside attendant and the bell rings. ::
(Midas and MacManus state each other down at an arm's length away. The air is tense when MacManus extends his arm for a handshake. Midas stares him down and delivers a kick to Murphy’s gut, followed with a knee to his head. Midas keeps it up with a combination of punches and knees that backs Murphy against the ropes. Midas whips Murphy across the ring. On the rebound, he hits an elbow to the face of MacManus, grounding him. He keeps the offense going with a series of elbows to the downed Leprechaun. Midas stomps on Murphy’s gut, causing the man to jolt into sitting position, albeit in pain. Midas follows this with a knee to the temple, dazing and laying Murphy out once again. Midas covers the redhead… 1! 2! KICKOUT by Murphy. Midas slips away for a bit to rest and plan, seizing the opportunity to size up MacManus. Murphy makes his way back to his feet with Midas stalking him closely, and he stumbles right into a cradle brainbuster by Midas! Alex hooks one of MacManus's legs for a pin! 1! 2! ROPE BREAK by Murphy MacManus! Midas stays calm, and begins to plan his next move.) Kyleigh “Spark” - Midas is determined to keep the Pure Title, and so far he seems to be doing a good job at achieving that. Carl Rogers - Midas is taking a very methodical and smart pace with this match, we expect nothing less from the Pure Champion. Murphy really needs to dig down deep to win this one… Barry Hanson - You got that right, Murphy should’ve known better than to step in the ring with a man like Midas! (Midas seems to be winding his arm up as MacManus pulls himself up by the ropes. Midas quickly slaps on a wrist lock and goes for the Midas Touch. Murphy ducks under and counters with a Russian Leg Sweep! Murphys rolls through and gets on his feet, finally having a moment to plan an offensive measure. Midas finds himself back on his feet before long, prompting Murphy to deliver a slew of punches to the Pure Champion, followed by a DDT. Murphy climbs to the second turnbuckle and drops his leg across the chest of Midas, before transitioning into a few punches. Midas makes his way back to his feet, with Murphy prepared for more offense. MacManus lifts the champion up for a torture rack and hits him with a lot of cranks before dropping him with an Argentine bomb. He goes for a cover… 1! 2! KICKOUT by Alexander Midas. Murphy keeps it up and locks in an ANACONDA CHOKE! Murphy has it cinched in tight, and Midas seems to be fading fast… MacManus delivers a few cranks to really drive the hold home then goes into a gator roll with it! However, as he rolls, Midas is able to wrap a leg around the rope, breaking the hold. Murphy releases and rolls away, now kneeling with his fist being cocked… as Midas turns toward him, he goes for an Irish hand Grenade! But Midas reverses with a spinebuster!) Barry Hanson - And just like that, Murphy’s momentum is gone! Carl Rogers - I wouldn’t say that it’s necessarily the end, but it’s gotta be disheartening for him to get so far just to get laid out once more… Kyleigh “Spark” - Well, it seems that only time can tell now… (Murphy and Midas start struggling to their feet. They get there at roughly the same time and Murphy delivers a kick to the gut of Midas. He then lifts him up for a powerbomb, but Alex uses the momentum to flip over into a sunset flip pin! 1! 2! KICKOUT by Murphy. Alex rolls back and the two men have distance between them. Murphy charges at Midas, but gets caught by a half nelson! Midas lifts him then drops him for the IVORY COAST! He goes for a cover! 1! 2! 3!)
Carl Rogers - What a match between Murphy MacManus and Alexander Midas! MacManus put up a hell of a fight, but came up short.
Barry Hanson - As we all knew he would! No one will take that title from Alexander Midas!
Kyleigh “Spark” - When it’s defended almost every week of the year, you can guarantee that SOMEONE is going to beat “King” Midas.
Carl Rogers - One thing that you cannot guarantee is who will win the Million Dollar Championship later tonight. We do know who WON’T win it, as David Knight and Marcus O’Hara were eliminated earlier.
Barry Hanson - And surely Adrian Veidt and Tazai Mitsubishi won’t win, either. They’ve both been beaten to shreds in the first round despite escaping.
:: The scene shifts to the back where we see a split screen of the four ladies in the ladder match getting ready. ::
Kyleigh “Spark” - Later tonight, we will have another championship match. Kay Lee Ray, Monique Browning, Nixon Newell, and Becky Lynch will step into the ring in a four-way ladder match for the NLW Divas Championship! I can’t wait for that one!
::”One True Villain” begins to play throughout the arena. Marty Scurll begins to make his way to the ring. ::
Carl Rogers - But right now it’s time to continue our Million Dollar Championship Tournament. Marty Scurll is on his way to the ring. Folks, this is an interesting situation. Marty Scurll was set to take on Antonio Gilberto in the first round of this tournament. However, last week…
:: We cut to video of the attacks last week as Carl continues to talk. ::
Carl Rogers - Antonio Gilberto and Bryan Danielson were attacked by two masked men. As you see here, Gilberto takes a blow to the head that left him with a lingering concussion that has sidelined him indefinitely.
:: We cut back to the ring at Vindication. ::
Carl Rogers - In a turn of events, “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase went to Commissioner Michaels and bought his way into the tournament. He offered up $1,000,000 to the winner of the tournament and was entered in Antonio Gilberto’s place.
Barry Hanson - The man is brilliant, Carl! He KNOWS he is going to win. He gets his title AND keeps his money tonight!
:: Scurll is in the ring now as the P.A. System switches to “It’s All About the Money.” ::
P.A. System - HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!
:: “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase walks out from the locker room and down the aisle. He steps into the ring and takes off his three-piece tuxedo. The bell rings. ::
Marty Scurll vs Ted DiBiase
(Both men meet in the center of the ring where they lock up. Seeing who can take the early advantage, it seems the first move goes to Marty as he applies a Headlock, but is quickly whipped off by the ropes. Ted ducks Marty on the rebound and then catches him with a plain kick to the gut before brushing Marty by his head to the canvas. Ted looks at the crowd angrily triggering them to boo. Ted follows that up with a few stomps to his limbs, looking to soften the marvel of fitness. Marty gets back to a vertical base and grabs his arms, trapped perfectly for a series of headbutts right to the chest. Marty dropping to one knee once Ted lets him go, to try to catch his breath but then just boots him across the face. He follows it up with a Running Knee Drop before covering and hooking the leg. 1....... 2.......! But Marty isn't staying down, he gets the shoulder up.)
Kyleigh “Spark” - DiBiase is going for the kill early. We can imagine he is trying to end it fast so he can stay well-rested for the next two rounds.
Barry Hanson - How many times do I have to tell you that he’s a smart man?!
(Ted, slowly but surely, stays on top of the man and whips him across the ring again. But before he can do anything, he's met with a Marty clothesline. Seeing his chance, Marty executes two more before going for an Irish Whip but Ted puts on the breaks and thumbs Marty right across the eye, stopping his comeback flat. He then tosses Marty out of the ring as the referee admonishes him for his illegal tactic. Marty crawls back to the ring apron as Ted is busy with the nagging ref, but he spots his chance and dropkicks Marty in the knee, knocking Marty back down and out, hurting his knee in the process. Smelling blood in the water, now Ted goes after the leg. 1, 2, counts the ref. Ted is stomping on it repeatedly and dragging Marty across ringside in front of the angry crowd. 3, He slams the bad leg against the ring apron, the hardest part of the ring, as he drags Marty toward the ring steps. 4, Detaching the top part and pinning the leg under it. 5, Ted takes steady aim as the referee begs him to stop but just as Ted leaps off the ring post to stomp Marty out, Marty is able to pull his foot out. 6, 7. Ted stomps on nothing as his adversary gets to his feet, slowly but steadily. 8, 9. Both men fight, trading blow but Ted pulls Marty, driving him head first onto the ring steps. Ted rolls into the ring, the referee, not pleased with Ted’s actions, restarts the count. Ted orders him to just count as Marty seems completely out outside.)
Barry Hanson - That’s not fair! The referee should’ve counted to 10 and just gotten it over with!
(1............ 2.......... Marty seems down and out as Ted waits for the count in a corner. 3........... Marty seems to show signs of life as Ted urges the ref to count faster. 4......... 5.......... Marty seems to start to come about, using the very steps he was thrown against to pull himself up. 6............ Ted seems restless as Marty pushes himself upward, crowd support coming about to motivate him. 7............... 8.............. 9............ Marty ex manages to get to a vertical base and rolls into the ring, frustrating Ted who grabs Marty but not to let himself be dominated again, Marty fights back with a couple of slaps to the face followed by a couple knee shots, right in the gut.)
Carl Rogers - Marty Scurll escaping countout there! Now showing signs of life!
(Marty starts mounting the offense with a series of Clotheslines, lighting up Ted and the crowd as Marty shakes off the damage to his leg. He hits a couple of Jumping Knees before nailing a Snap Suplex on Ted and tossing him over. He follows that up with a Vertical Suplex. Raising Ted with a lot of effort up into the air and holding him overhead for several seconds before sending him crashing down and covering him. 1............ 2.........-But Ted kicks out. Ted tries to get up quickly but Marty catches him in an Abdominal Stretch, grabbing one of his legs for that added stretch. Marty tries to keep a firm grasp but Ted does manage to lever himself out of the hold and Hip Tosses Marty who has some problem getting up. He pulls himself up with the ropes but Ted capitalizes and Chop Blocks the leg, brushing Marty down to the canvas. Ted wastes no more time and pulls Marty to the center of the ring and applies the Million Dollar Dream. Dead in the center, Ted has him dead to rights as Marty can't seem to have a way out. He raises his hand, thinking about tapping out, but he tries to reach for the ropes. His small frame squirms allowing him to pull himself somewhat. Bit by bit he's able to gut it out and reach the ropes.)
Kyleigh “Spark” - Marty Scurll showing some guts tonight. He just escaped the Million Dollar Dream!
(Ted let’s go of the hold but pulls Marty back to the center of the ring by the by his hair. Ted tries the Million Dollar Dream again, but this time, Marty is ready and pushes him away. He gets back to his feet and goes for a Super Kick but does not get much impact on it from how disoriented he is and the kick barely phases Ted. Ted spits in Marty’s face, Marty blinks as Ted again attempts the Million Dollar Dream but Marty is too close to the ropes. So Ted opts for attempting a lariat, but Marty gets ducks under. Marty swings wildly with the with a European uppercut, but misses and ends up on twisting into another Million Dollar Dream, Marty fights and squirms but eventually starts to tie out, he goes limp. The referee checks on Marty and calls for the bell.)
Barry Hanson - That’s my man! I told you he would win!
Kyleigh “Spark” - He has two more men to get through. Don’t jump the gun, Barry.
Carl Rogers - Regardless, Marty Scurll gave some resistance, but fell short. Our final quarterfinal match is coming up next. Brayden Wolfe has been very impressive so far since signing with Next Level Wrestling. He fell short last week in the Pure Championship match, so you can imagine that he’s determined to come back tonight with a vengeance.
Barry Hanson - That’s right. And he’s going to grab Bryan Danielson by his stringy hair and throw him around the ring.
Kyleigh “Spark” - You wonder what kind of condition that Bryan Danielson is in after those attacks last week by the masked men. He managed to come away without a concussion, like Antonio Gilberto, but he was still beat up pretty badly.
:: “Monster” by Imagine Dragons begins to play as the crowd rises to their feet. Bryan Danielson limps out from the back and stands at the top of the stage. He begins a “Yes” chant with the crowd. ::
Bryan Danielson and Crowd - YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!
:: Danielson makes his way to the ring and slides in. His music fades as “Too Many Years” by Kodak Black comes on. Brayden Wolfe sprints out from the back and slides into the ring and goes after Danielson. His bodyguard, Big Steve, and girlfriend, Kelsey, follow behind down the aisle. The bell rings. ::
Carl Rogers - Brayden Wolfe is wasting NO time!
(Wolfe goes after Danielson with fists of fury. He is clearly still upset about losing the Pure Title match last week. He knees Danielson in the gut and Danielson doubles over. Wolfe bounces off of the ropes and dropkicks Danielson in the head. Danielson falls outside of the ring and Wolfe follows him. Danielson hits Wolfe in the chest with a knife-edge chop. The referee begins counting. 1........2..... Danielson Irish whips Wolfe into the barricade. Danielson charges and Wolfe back-body drops Danielson over the barricade. 4.......5..... Wolfe jumps the barricade and begins to fight with Danielson in the stands. He picks Danielson up to try and piledrive him, but Danielson back-body drops Wolfe this time onto the concrete. 7......8.... Danielson goes to jump the barricade to get into the ring, but Wolfe grabs him and starts punching him ferociously. 9....10!) Carl Rogers - Both men are counted out! Brayden Wolfe let his emotions get really far out of control!
Barry Hanson - Wait so does that mean…
Kyleigh “Spark” - Yes, Barry. That means they’re both eliminated and “The Million Dollar Man” gets a bye straight into the final round of the Million Dollar Championship Tournament!
Carl Rogers - What a lucky guy, that DiBiase. A concussion, a dominating win over Marty Scurll, and a double countout lead him into the finals where he could, potentially, win the Million Dollar Championship AND keep his $1,000,000!
Barry Hanson - He’s a sm…
Kyleigh “Spark” - Smart man? Yeah, we’ve heard you say that over and over and again… Folks, coming up next is the match I have been looking forward to the most. We have a four way Divas Championship Ladder Match! This one will crown the first ever NLW Divas Champion. Let’s look back at the events leading up to this match.
:: We cut to video of Nixon Newell beating Sister Reby, Barba Rabra, and Taenerys Dargaryen three weeks ago. Then we see the events of Monique Browning versus Nixon Newell from two weeks ago. Nixon pins Monique and then Monique attacks Nixon. Becky Lynch comes out to aide Nixon. Then Monique manages an upper hand on the two women. Kay Lee Ray comes out and inadvertently attacks Becky Lynch. Trish and Lita announce that the four of them will be in a tag team match the following week. We see highlights of Monique and Becky versus Nixon and Kay Lee. We see Monique getting pinned by Kay Lee Ray. Then we see the sportsmanship from Becky Lynch to Nixon and Kay Lee, followed by Monique smashing her guitar over Becky’s head. Then we see Trish and Lita announcing the ladder match. We cut back to the ring. There are ladders everywhere outside the ring and the ring announcer stands in the middle of the ring. ::
Ring Announcer - The following contest is a Ladder Match! And it is for the Next Level Wrestling Divas Championship!
:: “C’est La Vie” hits over the P.A. System and Nixon Newell comes out of the locker room. She pumps up the crowd as she walks to the ring. Before she can get into the ring “Light up the Background” begins playing. Kay Lee Ray makes her way out and the crowd continues to cheer. Nixon slides into the ring and quickly turns to look towards Kay Lee Ray, just to keep herself safe. ::
Kyleigh “Spark” - These two are friends, Carl, but all bets are off tonight.
Carl Rogers - It’s going to be a fun one to watch, folks!
:: Kay Lee Ray slides into the ring and gives a wink to Nixon. She walks over to her own corner adjacent to Nixon’s and her music fades. “Freeway Bound” starts playing and the crowd starts booing. Monique Browning comes out with her guitar “Lucy II” strapped to her torso. She has a determined look on her face as she stares down Kay Lee Ray and then Nixon, who are both facing her from their corners. ::
Carl Rogers - She may not be a fan favorite, but she sure looks determined to win this one.
Barry Hanson - She’s my pick! Go Monique!
:: She takes her guitar off and sets it ringside. She slides under the bottom rope and steps into the third corner. “Celtic Invasion” takes over the arena and the crowd goes crazy. Becky Lynch makes her way out and into the aisle way. She slaps a few hands on her way to the ring. ::
Kyleigh “Spark” - Sounds like she might be the fan favorite. We will see if Becky can overcome the guitar shot from Monique last week and win this match. You can imagine she has some kind of revenge on her mind.
:: Becky climbs up into the ring and stands in the fourth corner. They all look up at the Divas Championship hanging above the ring. ::
Kyleigh “Spark” - And here we go!
(The bell rings as all four women exit the ring to grab a different ladder. They all slide their ladders into the ring and then slide in themselves. As they stand in the four corners with their ladders, they look at each other to see who is going to make the first move. Monique Browning runs towards Kay Lee Ray and throws the ladder at her. Kay Lee deflects the ladder with her own and swings hers at Monique. Monique ducks and shoulder-tackles Kay Lee into the corner. Nixon Newell has set her ladder up into the corner and freed her hands as Becky Lynch walks towards her with the ladder in tow. She turns the ladder sideways and pins Nixon into the corner between her own ladder and Becky’s. She starts shoving the ladder into Nixon’s midsection hard over and over again. Kay Lee Ray’s ladder falls to the mat as Monique continues on the attack. Monique hooks Kay Lee up for a suplex but it’s blocked by Kay Lee Ray. Kay Lee knees Monique in the midsection and she hooks Monique up for a suplex of her own. Becky leaves Nixon pinned in the corner and goes to hook the other arm of Monique. Kay Lee Ray and Becky Lynch double suplex Monique in the middle of the ring. Becky Lynch then pops up and clotheslines Kay Lee Ray before she could fully get to her feet. Becky runs to the corner that Nixon is in and dropkicks the ladder into Nixon’s midsection. Nixon is in pain as both her midsection and back took the brunt of that dropkick. Becky gets to her feet and takes a look around to see the other two women on the mat and Nixon slumped over the ladder that pins her in.)
Kyleigh “Spark” - A fast start for Becky Lynch! But we have a long way to go, I feel. All four of these women are really wanting that Divas Championship!
(Becky dislodges the ladder and unpins Nixon from the corner as Nixon falls to the ground grabbing her stomach and lower back. Becky sets the ladder up in the middle of the ring and runs over to boot Monique in the face, who was trying to get up. She runs over and delivers a running knee to Kay Lee Ray. Becky sees the opportunity to begin climbing the ladder. Nixon Newell has slowly gotten to her feet and she runs and dropkicks the ladder as Becky and the ladder fall to the mat. Nixon drops an elbow on Monique for good measure and gets up and grabs another ladder. She puts it around her head and begins swinging violently at the women who are attempting to get to their feet. Monique catches the ladder in the temple and falls to the outside of the ring. Kay Lee Ray ducks under an attempt and kicks Nixon in the midsection. Nixon doubles over and drops the ladder. Kay Lee Ray delivers a DDT to Nixon that keeps her down on the mat. Becky is up and charges at Kay Lee Ray, but Kay Lee sidesteps the attempt and sends Becky into the ring post. Becky falls to the outside of the ring and all we have right now is Kay Lee Ray standing in the ring with a ladder in her hands and Nixon Newell down on the mat.)
Carl Rogers - Things have turned! Kay Lee Ray has the advantage now!
Barry Hanson - Come on, Monique! Get back in the ring!
(Kay Lee Ray sets the ladder up in the middle of the ring and begins to climb. Nixon gets up to her knees and grabs Kay Lee’s left foot. Kay Lee tries to shake Nixon off. Nixon stands up and hooks Kay Lee up for a powerbomb. Kay Lee keeps her grip on the ladder, but Nixon still manages to powerbomb Kay Lee Ray to the mat. The ladder that Kay Lee was on crashes on top of her to double the damage. Nixon collapses the ladder and then runs and bounces off of the ropes and delivers a leg drop to the ladder on top of Kay Lee Ray’s face. Kay Lee Ray begins writhing around grabbing her face while Nixon does the same and grabs her leg. Nixon manages to get to her feet and grabs a ladder and begins to set it up. Meanwhile Monique has slid into the ring and picked up another ladder. Both women set their ladders up side-by-side in the middle of the ring and begin to climb their respective ladders on opposite sides. They both get to the top and begin trading blows with each other. Becky Lynch is now on the ring apron and begins to climb up to the top turnbuckle. As the two women are trading blows, Becky leaps off of the top rope and missile dropkicks the nearest ladder with Nixon on it. This knocks it into the other ladder and both ladders go toppling over. Monique gets hung up on the top rope across her chest and she whips backwards and onto the mat. Nixon crashes down onto the mat and lays motionless underneath the bottom rope. Becky lays on the mat from the impact of her landing and all four women are on the canvas.)
Crowd - THIS IS AWESOME!
Carl Rogers - The crowd is really showing these women some love. A great match, so far!
(Kay Lee Ray is the first to stir to her feet. She sets up a ladder over at the side of the ring next to the ropes. She walks over and picks up Monique. Monique delivers a thumb to the left eye of Kay Lee and Kay Lee Ray stumbles backwards grabbing her eye. Becky Lynch comes up from behind Monique and grabs her by the hair. She hooks Monique up and positions herself over a ladder. She falls backwards and delivers a reverse DDT on top of the ladder. The back of Monique’s head bounces off of the ladder and she appears to be out cold. Nixon is finally up to her feet and she picks up a ladder. She lays the ladder down on top of Monique and runs and bounces off of the ropes. On her way back, Becky Lynch delivers a standing missile dropkick to Nixon that knocks her off of her feet. Kay Lee Ray is now on the top turnbuckle, though, and she leaps off and delivers a Swanton Bomb onto the ladder that is on top of Monique. The crowd goes crazy as Kay Lee lays there in pain and Monique is lying there underneath the ladder.)
Crowd - Holy shit! Holy shit! Holy shit!
Carl Rogers - These ladies are giving it their all to win this Divas Championship!
Kyleigh “Spark” - No matter who wins, that lady will deserve it!
(Becky grabs the ladder and sets it up so the bottom rung on one side straddles Kay Lee’s chest and the bottom rung on the other side straddles Monique’s chest. She begins climbing up one side of the ladder. Nixon Newell is up. She begins climbing the other side of the ladder. They climb up the ladder as the weight keeps Kay Lee and Monique pinned underneath the bottom rungs. Nixon and Becky reach the top and begin trading blows back and forth. The two ladies who are pinned down by the ladder are squirming, but cannot shake free. Nixon grabs Becky’s face and slams it down onto the top of the ladder. Becky comes back and does the same thing to Nixon. The two are trading blows, but down below Monique has begun to press up with her left hand on one side of the ladder while Kay Lee Ray begins pressing up with her right hand on the same side. With both pressing on the same side, they begin to topple the ladder over. Nixon loses her balance and flies all the way to the outside and to the floor. Becky shows off her athleticism and lands with both feet on the top rope with the help of the ladder to stabilize her. She tightropes over to the ladder that Kay Lee Ray set up earlier and turns towards the middle of the ring. Becky springboards over the top of the ladder and hits a double leg-drop on Monique and Kay Lee Ray.)
Barry Hanson - Holy shit!
Kyleigh “Spark” - Still no bleep, Barry!
(Becky pulls herself up to her feet and re-sets the ladder back up. Nixon is down and out on the outside of the ring and medical attention has come over to assist her. Kay Lee Ray is down in the middle of the ring. Monique has rolled out of the ring. Becky begins to climb as Nixon Newell goes to grab the ropes from the outside of the ring to try and climb in, but she stops because she can’t lift her arm up due to the pain from the landing. Nixon slowly slides into the ring but Becky Lynch has reached the top and has her hands on the Divas Championship. She unsnaps the belt and pulls it down. The bell rings and the crowd goes nuts.)
:: “Celtic Invasion” begins playing as the P.A. Announcer comes over the system. ::
Ring Announcer - The winner of this match and neeeeew NLW Divas Champion… BECKY LYNCH!
Kyleigh “Spark” - Becky has done it! She is the first ever NLW Divas Champion!
Carl Rogers - A very very impressive match! Congratulations to Becky Lynch! Coming up next…
:: Monique slides into the ring with her guitar and smashes it over Becky’s lower back. Becky goes crashing to the mat from the ladder and the Divas Championship falls next to her. Monique picks up the Divas Championship and looks at it. She folds it up and runs and smashes it on the back of Nixon’s head. She picks Kay Lee Ray up off of the mat and delivers a jackknife powerbomb, her finisher that she calls “Smashville.” She looks around at the carnage in the ring and picks up the Divas Championship again. The crowd is booing like crazy as she stares at it and then back down at Becky. She throws the belt forcefully down onto Becky and leaves the ring. ::
Carl Rogers - What a poor sport! She lost fair and square! There’s obviously some unresolved issues between her and Becky Lynch!
Barry Hanson - You can bet that Becky hasn’t heard the last from Monique!
Carl Rogers - As I was saying… coming up next… The Million Dollar Championship Tournament continues. We’ve got Tazai Mitsubishi and Adrian Veidt facing off in a semi-final match to see who will face “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase in the finals. Let’s look back at some of the video from earlier tonight while they clean up the ring.
:: The scene changes to video of DiBiase beating Marty Scurll earlier in the evening. We see video of Tazai Mitsubishi’s win over David Knight and video of Adrian Veidt beating Marcus O’Hara. We return to ringside to see Carl, Barry, and Kyleigh at the announce table. ::
Carl Rogers - Earlier tonight, Adrian Viedt beat Marcus O’Hara to advance to these semi-finals. Now, we are set for him to take on Tazai Mitsubishi in the second round of the tournament.
:: “A World Divided” by Pyramaze begins playing over the P.A. System. Adrian Veidt comes out of the tunnel and starts walking down the aisle. He’s got a bandage on top of the stitches he required after his earlier match. ::
Carl Rogers - Adrian was very impressive earlier tonight against Marcus O’Hara, but you have to wonder if that wound will affect him in this match.
:: Veidt slides into the ring and the music changes to “Fatal” by Critical Mass. Tazai Mitsubishi comes out slowly holding his ribs. ::
Barry Hanson - Mitsubishi won’t be able to hold up much longer, in my opinion! David Knight was a massive man who used his size to his advantage earlier, but he wasn’t able to win and that was disappointing! He had that match!
:: Mitsubishi climbs into the ring and stands opposite of Veidt. His music fades and the bell rings. ::
(Veidt winces at Mitsubishi with one eye and the two meet in the middle of the ring. Veidt swings with a right European uppercut but Mitsubishi ducks out of the way he delivers a few swift kicks to Veidt’s midsection. Tazai kicks the legs out from underneath Veidt and Veidt falls on his back. Tazai goes for a leg drop and Veidt moves. Veidt pushes himself up to his feet and puts Tazai in a chinlock. Tazai squirms free and moves behind Veidt. Tazai locks Veidt in a full-nelson and rolls it over into a pinning combination. The ref counts 1… kick out by Veidt. Both men get to their feet fast and Veidt swings at Tazai and connects with a European uppercut this time. Tazai stumbles back and Veidt locks his arms around Tazai’s waist. Veidt delivers a German suplex and bridges it. The ref counts 1...2… kickout by Tazai Mitsubishi. Veidt stands up and walks to Tazai to pick him up by his head. Tazai kicks Veidt in the face and Veidt walks away grabbing his wound. The wound is re-opened now, as blood begins to seep through the bandage.)
Kyleigh “Spark” - That was a bullseye! Tazai hit his mark right on that wound from earlier tonight.
(Veidt turns back around and is met with a standing dropkick from Tazai. Veidt throws Tazai’s feet aside and Tazai crashes to the mat. Veidt picks Tazai up and hooks him up for the Bubastis Driver. Tazai breaks free and kicks Veidts legs out from underneath him again. He grabs Veidt’s legs and goes to put him in the 6 O’Clock. Veidt powers out and swings his legs, causing Tazai to somersault away from Veidt. Both men pop to their feet and Tazai is met with a clothesline from Veidt. Tazai back up to his feet and is met by a dropkick from Veidt. Tazai back to his feet one more time runs and swings at Veidt with a clothesline of his own, but Veidt ducks. Tazai off of the ropes and swings at Veidt again. Veidt ducks one more time but catches Tazai and delivers a head and arm suplex. Veidt goes for the cover. 1...2...th… kickout by Tazai Mitsubishi.)
Carl Rogers - Is it just me, or are these two guys moving in fast motion?
Kyleigh “Spark” - They look fast, Carl.
(Veidt pulls Tazai up to his feet and delivers another European uppercut. He locks Tazai around the waist once again and delivers another German suplex with a bridge, although his grip is not tight. Before the referee can even count, Tazai rolls over and up to his feet. He charges at Veidt and swings and connects with the 12 O’Clock right to Adrian’s re-opened wound. Adrian Veidt is out cold. Tazai rolls him over for the pin and the referee goes for the count. 1...2...3!)
Carl Rogers - Tazai Mitsubishi has done it! He hit that wound twice in this matchup and that proved costly for Adrian Veidt!
Kyleigh “Spark” - The final match-up is set and we will soon crown the first ever Next Level Wrestling Million Dollar Champion! Tazai Mitsubishi against “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase!
:: “Bad Company” by Five Finger Death Punch hits over the P.A. System and Dominic Sanders walks out onto the stage. He has a microphone in hand and he listens to the crowd cheering. He puts the microphone up to his mouth and the music stops. ::
Dominic Sanders - I hope you have all enjoyed NLW Vindication up to this point!
:: The crowd cheers loudly. ::
Dominic Sanders - Now, I know you guys paid good money to be here. And you were promised eleven excellent matches and one freebie before the show even started! Due to the double countout earlier between Bryan Danielson and Brayden Wolfe, however, you have been robbed one match. Therefore, we have found a way to give you an unscheduled match in order to feed your hunger!
:: The crowd cheers again. We begin to see the entire male roster of NLW “Jobbers” heading to the ring, minus Jinder Mahal. ::
Dominic Sanders - These six men are going to provide you with a hardcore battle royal in order to entertain you… and Head. Heh! Enjoy!
:: Sanders disappears to the back as the bell rings with six men in the ring. ::
(All six men spill outside through the ropes and grab weapons from underneath the ring. The Blue Meanie grabs a stop sign and slides into the ring with it.)
Kyleigh “Spark” - The Blue Meanie isn’t going to allow anyone to “stop” him tonight!
(Brother Jeff grabs a ladder and slides it in.)
Barry Hanson - Wait a minute! The ladder match was earlier!
(“Fixed” Matt Hardy finds another ladder and slides it into the ring. Baron Von D grabs a metal wrench and slides into the ring with it.)
Carl Rogers - I suppose he has plans to “fix” Matt Hardy even more!
(Savio Antonio grabs two chairs and slides them into the ring and follows.)
Barry Hanson - You know, I’ve heard that Savio is the “chairman” of East L.A.!
(Mhy-Col Coal has disappeared. No one knows where he is. The other five men are in the ring. Baron Von D goes to swing the wrench at “Fixed” Matt Hardy, but Brother Jeff is there and grabs the wrench out of Von D’s hand. Von D turns around and is met with a blow to the side of the head by Brother Jeff. Von D collapses to the mat and Jeff drops the wrench. He picks up a ladder and sets it up in the middle of the ring.)
Kyleigh “Spark” - I am beginning to think Brother Jeff is confused about what kind of match this is.
(The Blue Meanie is over in the corner holding the stop sign as Savio is walking towards him with both chairs in tow. However, without a free hand, The Blue Meanie swings the stop sign and clocks Savio with it. Savio drops the chairs and falls backwards into the ladder, knocking it over. Jeff looks annoyed and drops a leg on Savio. Matt runs over towards The Blue Meanie. Meanie swings the stop sign, but Matt baseball slides through Meanie’s legs and outside of the ring. He grabs both of Meanie’s ankles and pulls him down to the ground. Meanie’s face hits the stop sign hard. Matt pulls on the legs of Meanie and delivers a low blow to Meanie via the ring post. Meanie squirms around the ring in pain. Matt rolls back into the ring and grabs a ladder and sets it up in the middle of the ring. Savio gets up off of the ground and hits Matt with the wrench he picked up. Matt goes down. Jeff comes to Matt’s rescue and delivers a swinging neckbreaker to Savio. Baron Von D has stumbled to his feet and goes to try and clothesline Jeff over the top rope. Jeff drops to the canvas and grabs the top rope. Baron Von D goes tumbling over and to the floor.)
Carl Rogers - Baron Von D has been eliminated!
(Jeff and Matt are now working in unison on The Blue Meanie. They pick him up and deliver a double powerbomb onto the stop sign. Savio is up and charges Matt. Matt kicks Savio in the gut and delivers a Twist of Fate to Savio. Matt picks Savio up off of the ground and grabs him by the mask. He heads towards the ropes and dumps him over and to the floor.)
Kyleigh “Spark” - Bye bye Savio!
(Matt and Jeff set up both chairs next to each other. They pick The Blue Meanie up and hook him for a double suplex. They lift The Blue Meanie high and drop him down through both of the chairs. Meanie writhes around the ring in pain. Brother Jeff gets an idea and starts climbing the ladder.)
Carl Rogers - Brother Jeff has an idea! This is dangerous!
(Brother Jeff reaches the top of the ladder and is signalling that he is going for a Swanton Bomb from the top of the ladder! “Fixed” Matt Hardy stands nearby watching his brother at the top of the ladder. Suddenly Mhy-Col Coal slides into the ring.)
Barry Hanson - Where did that idiot come from?!
(Coal shoves Matt and Matt tumbles forward into the ladder. The ladder tips and Jeff goes crashing over the top rope and to the outside of the ring.)
Carl Rogers - An inadvertent elimination by “Fixed” Matt Hardy on Brother Jeff! Or… an elimination by Mhy-Col Coal? Whichever you want to call it.
Barry Hanson - I would rather call it neither!
(Matt turns around and sees Mhy-Col Coal. Coal is pleading with Matt and Matt backs him into the corner. He grabs Coal by the headgear and Coal begins yelling at him to stop. He runs and pulls Coal with him and throws Coal over the top rope and to the floor. Coal’s headgear comes off in Matt’s hands. Matt looks at it and then throws it over the ropes at Coal and yells something to him. The Blue Meanie gets up to his feet and runs over and dumps “Fixed” Matt Hardy over the top rope and to the floor. The bell rings.)
Kyleigh “Spark” - Well, it appears The Blue Meanie has won this impromptu hardcore battle royal!
:: “MMMBop!” by Hanson begins playing as a referee slides into the ring and raises his hand. Meanie does a dance and the crowd cheers. ::
Barry Hanson - I hate this song! I wish he would’ve lost just so we don’t have to hear this song!
:: The scene cuts away from Meanie dancing to backstage where we see a split screen of Carlos Ruiz and Hulk Hogan getting ready to go to the ring. Carl talks about the match over the video. ::
Carl Rogers - Well, folks, this next one is going to be one for the ages, and I mean that in a quite literal sense. We have one of this profession’s biggest icons, if not THE biggest icon, in Hulk Hogan going one-on-one with Carlos Ruiz. Carlos, as most of you know, is one of the fastest rising stars in the business today. Let’s take a look at the match-up.
:: Video cuts away to a promo for the match-up ::
Narrator: Dan Patrick - An icon… [video of Hogan playing to the crowd] an American hero [video of Hogan versus Iron Sheik]… a living legend [video of Hogan versus Andre the Giant]… all of these things and more can be used to describe Hulk Hogan. He is a man who has been the face of the wrestling world for decades. And his next challenge may be the man who could be the face of the wrestling world for decades to come. [video of Carlos Ruiz defeating Savio Antonio] Prior to his time in the NLW, Carlos Ruiz worked a short-lived stint in a different organization. [video of Carlos defeating other competitors prior to the NLW] But this man has been the buzz of the wrestling world as of late, having not lost a single match since his move to America. [video of the contract signing last week at Pandemonium] These two fan-favorites now set out to give the wrestling world a battle for the ages, as well as a battle to set the bar for Next Level Wrestling. [video of Hogan saying “Whatcha gonna do brother?!”] Although only one man may win this match, they will both be winners in the hearts of wrestling fans throughout the world. [video of Carlos yelling “VIVA LA LUCHA!”] It’s “The Icon” [video of Hogan smiling] versus “The Future.” [video of Ruiz smiling]
:: Video comes back to inside the ring. The bell rings as we focus in on the ring announcer. ::
Ring Announcer - Ladies and gentlemen… The following contest is scheduled for one fall!
:: “Mazz Cumbias” begins to play over the P.A. System as the capacity crowd of 17,565 rises to their feet in excitement. Carlos Ruiz comes out of the back wearing his leather jacket, Maui Jim sunglasses, powder blue speedo-style wrestling tights, matching kneepads, and a pair of white boots. He smiles as he walks down the aisle towards the ring, slapping hands and taking pictures with the fans. ::
Ring Announcer - Introducing first… From Madrid, Spain… weighing in at 205 pounds. He is “the Spanish Luchadore”... Carlooooooos Ruuuuiiiiz!
:: Carlos walks up the ring steps and into the ring as the crowd continues to buzz. ::
Kyleigh “Spark” - Here comes a man who has taken this nation by storm! Currently undefeated and that accomplishment hangs in the balance tonight as he faces off with a living legend!
Barry Hanson - He doesn’t stand a chance, Kyleigh! Hulk Hogan is immortal!
:: “Mazz Cumbias” fades out and there’s a short break in the music. The crowd is raucous right now as they await the arrival of their hero. “Real American” strikes up and the top blows off of the TD Garden Arena ::
Barry Hanson - Here we go!
Ring Announcer - And his opponent… from Venice Beach, California… weighing in at 302 pounds… He is the Immortal… he is the icon… he is the living legend… Huuuuulk Hoooogan!
:: Hulk Hogan makes his way out from the back to a huge pop. He plays to the crowd from the entrance area. He has his “Hulkamania” t-shirt on with a pair of red and yellow tights on. His feather boa is draped around his neck and he has a huge pair of sunglasses on. ::
Carl Rogers - I grew up idolizing the Hulkster. I'm so excited for this match and it's an honor to call it!
:: Hogan steps into the ring and tears off the “Hulkamania” shirt. He plays to the crowd a little more as his music continues to play. ::
Kyleigh “Spark” - It’s almost that time, guys. Who you got?
Barry Hanson - Always Hulk Hogan! Can't bet against him!
Kyleigh “Spark” - I think I'm going with Carlos for the “upset.”
Carl Rogers - Hogan. It's gotta be Hogan.
:: The music fades and the crowd continues to buzz. The referee checks Hogan’s equipment as Hogan and Ruiz stare at each other from across the ring. The crowd is clapping rhythmically as they have been anticipating this match for weeks. Finally, Hogan’s music fades and the bell rings. ::
Carl Rogers - Here we go!
(Hogan and Carlos circle the ring slowly as the crowd is on their feet for these two competitors. Hulk Hogan strikes a powerful pose and Carlos stands opposite smiling. They both listen to the crowd cheering and look each other in the eyes. Hogan puts his left hand up as a test of strength. Carlos comes slowly towards Hogan and reaches up, but before locking hands he starts to salsa dance.)
Carl Rogers - Looks like we are going to have some theatrics from both men before they begin wrestling.
Barry Hanson - This is great, Rogers!
(Hogan doesn’t appreciate the salsa dancing and comes after Carlos with a right fist. Carlos ducks and kicks Hogan in the right knee. And another kick. And another.)
Kyleigh “Spark” - Carlos is going for the legs early. He’s gotta be thinking that, if he can keep the bigger man off of his feet, he’s got a better chance to win.
(Hogan doubles over as Carlos delivers a knee to the gut of Hogan. He grabs Hogan by the arm and whips him to the ropes. Carlos hits the mat and Hogan jumps over and bounces off the opposite ropes. Carlos gets up and goes for a cross-body on Hogan. Hogan catches Carlos and looks to the crowd. Hogan slams Carlos to the mat with a bodyslam. Hogan goes off the ropes, looking for the Big Leg Drop, but Carlos smartly rolls out of the ring. The crowd begins to clap for Hogan as he strikes a pose. Carlos slides back into the ring before the referee can begin a count and Carlos is up to his feel. Carlos now goes for the test of strength and Hogan grabs Carlos’ right arm. But before Carlos can raise his other arm, Hogan pulls him in with a short-arm clothesline.)
Carl Rogers - Hogan showing his power there.
Barry Hanson - It’s gonna happen! Hulk Hogan will win this match.
(Hogan picks Carlos up off of the mat and scoops him up for another bodyslam, but Carlos wiggles free behind Hogan and hits a dropkick on Hogan once he turns around. Hogan stumbles back into the ropes and Carlos runs at Hogan with a clothesline. Hogan ducks and back-body drops Carlos over the ropes. Carlos lands on the ring apron. Hogan turns around and is met with a right fist to the face. Carlos leaps over the top rope with a sunset flip.)
Referee and Crowd - One! Tw…
(Hogan quickly kicks out. Hogan and Carlos come back to their feet and Hogan kicks Carlos in the gut. Carlos grabs Hogan’s foot and spins Hogan around. Carlos kicks the back of Hogan’s right knee. Carlos kicks Hogan in the back of the knee again and then goes down low and clips the back of Hogan’s right knee with his left shoulder. Hogan hits the mat. Carlos pops up to his feet and grabs the right leg of Hogan and goes for a Boston Crab type of maneuver.)
Carl Rogers - Carlos is trying to work more on that leg. He’s attempting to roll Hogan over into a Boston Crab.
Kyleigh “Spark” - Actually, I talked to Carlos earlier today. He said he’s been working on that. It’s called “Cangrejo Espanol” which translates into Spanish Crab.
Barry Hanson - Whatever he calls it, it’s not working!
(Hogan uses his power to push his legs out and sends Carlos into the turnbuckle. Carlos grabs his back in pain as Hogan gets to his feet, a little gimpy now from all of the work being done to his right knee. Hogan charges at Carlos to try and throw his knee into Carlos in the corner, but Carlos moves out of the way and Hogan’s knee hits the middle turnbuckle. Hogan limps around as Carlos bounces off of the ropes and delivers a running bulldog to Hogan. Carlos rolls Hogan over and covers him.)
Referee and Crowd - One! Two! Th…
(Hogan kicks out.)
Carl Rogers - Carlos almost had him there!
Barry Hanson - Come on, Rogers. It wasn’t even close!
(Carlos stands Hogan up and sends him into the ropes with an Irish whip. He goes for Spanish Eyes! However, Hogan ducks underneath the superkick attempt and puts Carlos to the mat with a heavy clothesline. Carlos bounces up and is met with another clothesline. One more time Carlos comes to his feet and Hogan delivers one more. He goes for the cover.)
Referee and Crowd - One! Two! Th…
(Kickout by Carlos Ruiz! Hogan pulls Carlos up to his feet. Carlos delivers a right fist to the midsection, but Hogan comes back with a rake to the eyes. Carlos stumbled back and Hogan comes after him. Carlos kicks him in the right knee again and Hogan doubles over. Carlos delivers a double-axe handle to Hogans back and Hogan pops up.)
Kyleigh “Spark” - Listen to this crowd! They’re going crazy as Hogan begins to Hulk up!
(Carlos delivers a right hook to Hogan as Hogan eats it and begins shaking his head. Carlos hits him with one more right hook and Hogan looks at him with eyes wide and raises his right hand. He begins shaking his finger at Carlos. Carlos laughs and says “Who? Me?” Hogan delivers a strong right. Carlos reels back. Another right. And another. Hogan sends Carlos off of the ropes and on his return Carlos is met with the Big Boot to the face!)
Barry Hanson - There’s no way that Hogan is going to lose now! He’s pumped and he’s going for the Big Leg Drop!
(Hogan bounces off of the ropes and is about to go for the Big Leg Drop! He returns and, right before he gets to Carlos, his right knee buckles and he drops to the mat.)
Carl Rogers - This is not good! Hogan is down!
(Carlos gets up off of the ground and grabs Hogan’s legs. He is able to roll Hogan over and he locks in Cangrejo Espanol!)
Barry Hanson - SPANISH CRAB!
Kyleigh “Spark” - He’s got it locked in, and in the middle of the ring!
(Carlos cinches back on Hogan’s right knee and sits on Hogan’s lower back. The pain is unbearable for Hulk Hogan. HOGAN TAPS! The bell rings!)
Ring Announcer - The winner of this match… CARLOOOOS RUIIIIZ!
:: “Mazz Cumbias” begins to play as the referee raises Carlos’ hand. ::
Carl Rogers - Carlos Ruiz did it! He defeated the Immortal Hulk Hogan!
Kyleigh “Spark” - I am almost in shock, Carl! I predicted it, but I wasn’t sure if it would happen!
:: Carlos celebrates on a turnbuckle as Hogan stumbles up to his feet. Hogan goes over to Carlos and pulls him off of the turnbuckle. The music fades as Hogan has his eyes locked onto Carlos. ::
Barry Hanson - This may not be over. Hogan looks pissed!
:: Carlos doesn’t have a smile on his face right now as the crowd suddenly has a concerned hush. Hogan hasn’t taken his eyes off of Carlos yet as Carlos looks a little nervous. Hogan backs up a couple of steps, nods his head in appreciation, and extends his hand. Carlos smiles and shakes Hogan’s hand and “Real American” hits over the P.A. System. ::
Carl Rogers - What a showing of respect from the Immortal Hulk Hogan!
Barry Hanson - Normally I would think this is stupid, but you can’t hate it when it’s an icon and a future star!
Carl Rogers - What a great match! What a great night! And we aren’t done yet! Coming up next we’ve got the Million Dollar Championship match as our main event! It’s Tazai Mitsubishi against “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase! Let’s take a look at the highlights from earlier this evening!
:: We see video of Tazai Mitsubishi’s match against David Knight. Then we see video of his match against Adrian Veidt. Following that, we see video of Ted DiBiase defeating Marty Scurll and then video of the double countout between Bryan Danielson and Brayden Wolfe which lead to Ted DiBiase advancing to the finals. We cut back to the ring and the ring announcer. There is a wooden box on a pedestal sitting behind him. Also on the pedestal is a metal briefcase. ::
Ring Announcer - The following contest is scheduled for one fall… and it is for the Next Level Wrestling Million Dollar Championship!
P.A. System - HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!
:: “It’s All About the Money” plays and Ted DiBiase makes his way out from the back already in his wrestling attire, no tuxedo. ::
Ring Announcer - Introducing first… from his summer home in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts… weighing in at 260 pounds! He is “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase!
Carl Rogers - You can bet that Ted DiBiase can taste the Million Dollar Championship.
Barry Hanson - There’s no one to stop him!
Kyleigh “Spark” - Well, there IS. Tazai Mitsubishi. Unfortunately for Tazai, Ted DiBiase is really well-rested after only competing in one match tonight.
:: DiBiase’s theme fades out and “Fatal” by Critical Mass begins to play. Tazai Mitsubishi steps out from the entrance way and the crowd cheers for him. ::
Ring Announcer - And his opponent… from Bridgeport, Connecticut… weighing in at 202 pounds… the “Psycho Tiger” Tazai Mitsubishi!
:: Tazai makes his way into the ring and begins pacing around a little bit. The music fades as the crowd buzzes. The referee opens the briefcase and shows the $1,000,000 to Tazai Mitsubishi. He walks over to Ted DiBiase and DiBiase brushes him away before he even looks at the money. The referee closes the briefcase and sets it on the ring apron. The referee opens the wooden box and pulls out the gorgeous and shining Million Dollar Championship. He shows Tazai the belt and then walks over to DiBiase and shows it to him. DiBiase nods and smiles and mouths the words “My Baby.” The referee hands it to the ring attendant who also grabs the briefcase and the bell rings. ::
Carl Rogers - Here we go! Million Dollar Championship AND $1,000,000 on the line!
(Tazai charges at DiBiase and delivers a running forearm to DiBiase’s face. He delivers a couple more forearms to DiBiase and then grabs his arm and Irish whips DiBiase into the ropes. DiBiase comes off of the ropes and Tazai leapfrogs DiBiase and drops to his back. DiBiase comes back off of the opposite ropes and Tazai catapults DiBiase into the air with his legs. DiBiase crashes to the mat and Tazai pops up.)
Carl Rogers - For being someone who has already fought in two matches tonight, Tazai is starting off strong.
Barry Hanson - He won’t be able to keep up for long! Ted DiBiase is too fresh and too good!
(DiBiase gets to his feet and is met by a kick to the left shoulder by Tazai. Tazai kicks him again and again in the shoulder. DiBiase grabs his arm in pain and Tazai backs DiBiase up to the ropes. DiBiase swings his upper body underneath the top rope and the referee steps in between the two to break them apart. The crowd boos.)
Carl Rogers - You hate to say it, but that’s a smart move.
Barry Hanson - Hate to say it? It’s just brilliant! I love it!
(DiBiase gets fully back into the ring and Tazai moves the referee out of the way. The referee’s back gets turned around by this and DiBiase hits Tazai with a rake to the eyes. Tazai grabs his face and stumbles away. DiBiase kicks the left knee of Tazai. Then the right knee. Tazai drops to his knees and DiBiase goes to lock him in the Million Dollar Dream. Tazai escapes through DiBiase’s legs and behind him. DiBiase turns around but is met by Tazai with a snapmare neckbreaker. DiBiase grabs his neck and Tazai goes to put DiBiase in the 6 O’Clock but DiBiase overpowers Tazai and shoves him away with his feet. Tazai comes back towards DiBiase but DiBiase kicks Tazai in the gut. DiBiase gets to his feet and goes to hook Tazai up for a suplex. Tazai rolls DiBiase up in a small package.)
Referee and Crowd - ONE! TWO! TH…
(Kickout by Ted DiBiase. DiBiase gets to his feet quickly and stomps on the back of Tazai’s head. He stomps on his kidneys a few times before delivering a double axehandle smash to Tazai’s lower back. Tazai is down on the mat as DiBiase bounces off of the ropes and drops a knee on Tazai’s lower back. He kneels down on Tazai and grabs Tazai’s arms and wrenches back. The referee begins asking Tazai if he quits. He says no.)
Carl Rogers - Tazai Mitsubishi is not going to give up. Too much on the line here!
Kyleigh “Spark” - I can think of one million and one reasons not to give up!
(DiBiase releases the hold and pulls Tazai up to his feet. He scoops Tazai up and bodyslams him. He bounces off of the ropes again and drops a knee to the back again. He picks Tazai up and hooks him up in an abdominal stretch.)
Kyleigh “Spark” - Ted is really working on that already worn-down midsection of Tazai now.
Barry Hanson - Come on Ted! It’s all yours!
(DiBiase notices that the referee cannot see his left arm, so DiBiase grabs the top rope and Tazai begins screaming. The referee looks up and DiBiase lets go. The referee goes back to asking Tazai if he quits. DiBiase grabs the ropes again. The referee catches him this time and kicks DiBiase’s hand off of the ropes. Tazai hip-tosses DiBiase and both men are down.)
Barry Hanson - Hey! He can’t do that!
Carl Rogers - He just did!
(Both men slowly start to get to their feet as the referee’s count reaches three. DiBiase stands up first and goes to knee Tazai in the head. Tazai grabs both of DiBiase’s legs and pulls them out from underneath him. He hooks DiBiase in 6 O’Clock and turns it over. The referee is in DiBiase’s face asking about submission.)
Barry Hanson - No! Don’t give up Teddy!
(DiBiase slowly starts crawling towards the ropes. He is a foot away now. Eight inches. Four inches. A fingertip away. Tazai stands up and pulls DiBiase back towards the center of the ring. Before he could sit back down on it, DiBiase kicks Tazai away, bouncing Tazai off of the ropes. Tazai comes back and swings at DiBiase, connecting with a hard clothesline. He goes for the cover.)
Referee and Crowd - ONE! TWO!
(Kickout by DiBiase! Tazai gets back to his feet and pulls DiBiase up. He delivers a knife-edge chop to DiBiase as the crowd yells “Wooo!” And again. And again! DiBiase is backed into the corner. Tazai charges DiBiase but DiBiase ducks out of the way, Tazai stops himself before hitting the turnbuckle, but his back is turned. DiBiase locks in the Million Dollar Dream! Tazai reaches for the ropes with his other hand but DiBiase backs up into the center of the ring.)
Barry Hanson - This could be it!!
(Tazai begins to fade. The referee raises the arm. ONE! The referee raises it again. TWO! The referee raises the arm. It falls ¾ of the way and Tazai pulls it up!)
Barry Hanson - HOW?!
(Tazai elbows DiBiase in the gut. And again. DiBiase releases the hold and Tazai bounces off of the ropes. He comes back and goes to deliver a clothesline but DiBiase ducks it and hooks him in the Million Dollar Dream again. Tazai begins to fade again. The referee raises the arm. ONE! He raises it again. TWO! He raises it a third time. THREE! The bell rings! DiBiase drops Tazai to the mat.)
Ring Announcer - Here is your winner… and NEEEEW Next Level Wrestling Million Dollar Champion… “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase!
:: DiBiase raises his arms in victory as “It’s All About the Money” plays on the P.A. System. The referee comes over and hands him the briefcase and the belt. DiBiase raises the belt up high. ::
Barry Hanson - He did it! I told you he would!
Carl Rogers - I can’t believe it! He managed to pull it out and keep his money! He also won a very fitting title belt!
Kyleigh “Spark” - You may not like him, but he’s a wily vet who did what it took to win!
Barry Hanson - No, YOU may not like him. I love him!
Carl Rogers - On behalf of Kyleigh “Spark” and Barry Hanson, thank you for tuning into Vindication! We hope you enjoyed it! Goodnight everybody!
:: Ted DiBiase clutches the briefcase and climbs out of the ring with the belt in his other hand. He walks down the aisle laughing at booing fans and holding the Million Dollar Championship in their faces. He looks into a camera. ::
“The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase - I’ve told you all many times before. They tried to keep me out of this tournament. But EVERYBODY’S GOT A PRICE for “The Million Dollar Man!” HA HA HA HA HA HA!
:: DiBiase raises his belt once again and laughs heartily at the crowd as the scene fades out. ::
